Accidentally Discovered #1 - INK

2025.9.11

The songs of this band got pushed to me on YouTube today. Unfortunate name, this; bloody hard to search with search engine. Info is barely available. One can dig more information from visiting inkmusic.net on web.archive.org; I, however, have other things to do.

INK is a rock power trio founded in 2000 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Their music is best described as along the heavier side of alternative rock/metal (like e.g. Soundgarden and Alice In Chains). Apparently about a few years later they relocated to Milford, which sounds far until you've realized it's about the same as going to the Dublin Airport from Tallaght (and shorter than from Shenzhen Railway Station to Kexing Science Park, a distance of 20 something kilometers I had to commute daily in 2018). The line up is as follows:

  • Steven Gonza (Lead Vocal; Guitar)
  • Sal Gonza (Drums) [Sibling?]
  • Rich Massella (Bass)

Despite having released numerous records across their history of 25 years, none other than the newest ones can be found on YouTube in its entirety. It's not on Bandcamp, it's not on Spotify, I suppose you could send an email and ask for a digital copy, but I haven't tried myself.

A band named Fighting Confession has been presumably active between the years 2009~2012. The line up was said to be as follows:

  • Stephen Gonza (Lead Vocal; Guitar) [Son? Nephew? of Steven Gonza? One would assume they're families.]
  • Jon Buzelle (Lead Guitar; Backing Vocal)
  • Thomas Novotny (Bass)
  • Tim Orozco (Drums)

Apparently a 3-track EP has been released in 2010 titled Hit The Ground

  • Hit The Ground
  • Breathe (In which the drums are played by one Patrick Williams instead)
  • I Need You

This band had one local show in 2010 which wa said to have gathered 200-something people. Its frontman apparently still write songs from time to time.
